Erica Walker Joynes
MSW, LCSWA
Erica Walker Joynes, MSW, LCSWA is a NCCU graduate and provisionally licensed clinician at Heal You Whole You PLLC. She is married, the proud mother of two grown daughters, and an avid dog lover. Erica believes deeply in the power of counseling and traditional therapy, while also recognizing that healing can be greatly enhanced through holistic wellness practices such as meditation, grounding techniques, music therapy, tai chi, and other mind–body approaches.
She emphasizes the importance of eating healthy, wholesome foods as a vital contribution to both mental and physical healing, viewing nutrition as an essential part of overall wellness. In her personal life, Erica enjoys gardening, reading, weight lifting, and walking—activities that reflect her belief in nurturing both mind and body.
Professionally, Erica brings a rich and diverse background in human services and education. She has previously served as a case manager and supervisor with Child Protective Services, a high school teacher for exceptional children, and a wilderness camp counselor for adjudicated youth, among other roles. These experiences have shaped her trauma-informed, strengths-based approach and deepened her commitment to compassionate, respectful, and culturally responsive practice.
Erica’s chosen population includes all individuals who seek guidance in reaching their personal level of self-actualization. She believes that sex, gender, age, size, color, etc., do not define a person’s worth or capacity for growth. Her personal philosophy centers on the belief that everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and validated, and that no one is above anyone else. She values respect, authenticity, and the reciprocal exchange of positive energy, and she is committed to creating a safe, affirming space where individuals feel supported and empowered on their healing journey.
